How to Book
To make a Kayak booking please use the booking facility on this website. Alternatively you can use the contact us page to submit a request for either SUP or Kayak. For SUP Session bookings please call the office or mobile, our sessions will be available on line soon, but until then....

Our Kayak trips and hire options are limited in numbers and are therefore subject to availability, standard Kayak tour size is 8/10 per instructor and for SUP it's 5 per instructor (COVID Guidelines) . School and Bank holidays are often busy as are weekends, so whilst late bookings are welcomed, book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Minumum two instructors / guides available at all times & 3/4 during peak season.

Payment
We normally take full payment online at the time of booking through our Paypal account. Off line bookings can be taken via paypal or Bank transfer with credit card facilities at the Office.

Trip Information and Joining Instructions
When you book you will receive information and joining instructions for your trip, directions on how to get here, what to bring and other useful local information. Once your booking is confirmed and payment received we guarantee there will be no price alterations or surcharges.

Hire (please not we DO NOT hire SUP equipment) 

As the river is tidal, you must assure us that you can kayak proficiently, and know what to do in the event of a capsize. Singles are only recommended for those with previous experience of such, as they are slightly less stable than doubles. If in doubt, book a double and ask us for advice. We reserve the right to cancel a hire booking if we believe you would put yourselves and others in danger.

Cancelling your Booking or Changing your Dates
If you cancel your booking up to 24 hours before departure you will receive a full refund less a £5 per person cancellation fee or, if available you can transfer to another date for a £5 per person transfer fee. We do not refund or offer transfers to no shows or those who cancel within 24 hours of departure as we will already have arranged equipment and staff cover and are unlikely to be able to resell your place at short notice.  

Cancellations by Encounter Cornwall / Paddle Cornwall SUP
We will run trips and offer hire providing two or more people book. So they will run unless there are circumstances beyond our control – such as adverse weather conditions. If we do cancel you will be able to choose an alternative date or receive a full refund. If after you have placed a booking you decide to reduce your numbers, payment will be fofeited for any members of your party not attending. 

Weather & Tides

Sadly we can not control the weather or tides, therefore in the event that the weather or tide is unsuitable, cancellation of your session may occur and an alternative date / credit note will be discuussed or alternatively a refund of the fees paid. 

Launch Times

Please note that our launch times are dictated by the tides and we ask that all paddlers attend for induction a minimum of 15 minutes prior to launch, please note that we are unable to delay luanching if you are late for a session and we have launched, refunds for late arrival can not be given. As such, please ensure you allow plenty of time to arrive for your induction. 

Insurance & Liability

Paddle Cornwall River Encounters has a comprehensive public liability insurance policy with Lark Insurance through Marine Trade, a copy of which can be viewed upon request. Bookings DO NOT include personal travel or accident insurance for paddlers. Please ask your insurers for full details of the necessary insurance required to cover you for taking part in  your activity.

Medical Forms 

Please advise is upon or prior to bookings if you have any medical conditions that may affect your safety on thew water, we ask that all guests are able to swim at least 50 mtrs unadided for thier own safety.

Damage to Kit

We have made great investment to ensure the quality of the equipment we use for our sessions and hire and we ask that all our equipment is used for the purpose for which it was designed and that due attention and care is given to all equipment. Any damages that occur as a result of neglegence or malicious acts or carelessness will be subject to a charge for the replacemnet of said kit at the current market value.

Consent

Please note that during sessions we may take photographs or film, which will be used on both our website and our social media chanels for the promotion of our activities. If you wish to be excluded from such activity, please advise your guide prior to the session so that we can ensure you are not included.

Privacy

The information you provide for your booking is of great value and will not be held by us for any uses other than to inform you of further activities that we deem may be of interest. We will not sell of share your data with any other persons or businesses.

Safety
Your safety and enjoyment is of prime importance to us.

As part of the booking conditions you must agree to follow the instructions and guidance provided in our information and by our staff. In addition you must act sensibly and prudently at all times with regard to your safety and that of others and their property.

You must advise us of any medical conditions in your party that may affect their ability to paddle.

Parental Responsibility
Parents or legal guardians of children under 16 undertake to take full responsibility for their children and supervise them at all times. To satisfy current legislation, children under 16 will not be allowed to undertake Encounter Cornwall Kayak trips without their parent or legal guardian accompanying them. SUP sessions are covered by our AALA license which allows us to take children under 16 years and over the age of 10 years out onto the water for a SUP session without parental supervision. As such all our instructors have been DBS checked and have hold a current safeguarding qualification.

COVID-19

Please note that all of our equipment is sprayed and wiped before and after a session with anti bacterial solutions. We will be adhereing to social distancing guidelines during your induction and session and after your session and we resppectfully request that you do the same. We have our Government QR code displayed on the door and would ask you all to scan in for active trackk and trace. Wetsuits are dipped in anti bac solution after each session (please note during off peak seasons wetsuits are recommeded for SUP) 

Complaints
If you do have any problems concerning your trip / session you should contact us immediately and we will do our best to resolve the situation. If we are unable to do this, complaints should be put in writing to our office as soon as is reasonably practical and within 14 days of the end or the trip.
