Stay In Golant
From our friends and former owners of Encounter "The Sanctuary" will be open for business (see info / local links page to access it's website). The 5 en-suite bedrooms all have stunning views over the estuary and private balconies. Located just above the main village in 12 acres of woodland and pasture it's the perfect place to connect with the great outdoors. It's completely "off-grid" being powered by solar electricity and heated by solar thermal panels with a log boiler for back-up when the sun isn't shining. Water comes from our own 50m borehole. The bedrooms are all designed to be flexible with double, twin and triple bed options. In addition to 3 standard bedrooms, there is a larger bedroom with full size day bed and our Barn Owl suite which can sleep 4 and can double as a funtion room. Rooms are normally booked on a Bed & Breakfast basis. However, the Barn Owl Suite has it's own kitchen and so there is a self catering option. Self catering is also available to small groups (up to 12) either with or without the Barn Owl Suite.
The Santuary website "www.thesanctuarycornwall.co.uk" can be accessed through our Info / Local Links page.
A little more information .....
Now under new Management: David and Karen have now sold Encounter Cornwall to the team at Paddle Cornwall SUP, Jules, Clair, Phil and Ben who will continue to offer the same award winning services you have come to know and love, with the introduction of Stand Up paddle Board lessons and tours, making this an all inclusive, water activities centre, for locals and visitors alike. Having run a mobile SUP school from the slipway in Golant, to now having thier own premises will allow them to offer an enhanced activities portfolio including SUP Tours, Lessons, parties and events and ensure they continue to cater for a diverse audience, so if you are a water lover looking to enhance your skills on the kayak or SUP or a complete beginner, where better to start your journey than with the PCS team.
The team will be working daily from "The Boatshed", as there home base and offering refreshments and a small shop to include water wear and there very own STAND. clothing designs, "from board to beach to bar", pop in and say hi!
