Flotilla Fun!

Last Sunday we were involved in a very special occasion - Golant had a Flotilla to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday. The last waterborn extravaganza was for the Jubilee, and this time we had fantastic, text book weather. David supplied a safety boat, and Karen was in a kayak with camera in hand to try to capture the exotic mix of craft, some beautifully decorated for the event. We had a toast at 6pm, a water-born picnic, a 'fly past' and then a procession to St Winnow, followed by continued celebrations in the Fisherman's Arms - Golant always knows how to have a good time! Special mention goes to Castle Dore Rowing club, who not only managed to stay elegantly afloat, but stashed a very high class picnic in their craft, and fed & watered the photographer!
